Call it the result of our urban lifestyle or the growing hours we spend sitting
at one place in our comfortable office chairs, it is a known fact that human
species as a whole is slowly crawling towards diseases like obesity, allergies
and chronic heart related problems. What’s more alarming is the fact that
diseases like swine flu and chicken flu can only be tackled with the help of a
good immune system that is more than capable to fight such diseases. Lack of
physical exercise and excess stress along with careless eating can all result in
coronary artery diseases and cardiac problems in any individual.
While no
one can be considered completely hail and healthy when suffering with any heart
related problems, things get much worse when the person affected is a child. If
we take a good look at the prevailing lifestyle of kids living in urban areas,
it would become very clear that they are not only eating more junk food, they
are also performing lesser and lesser physical exercises as compared to the
earlier generations.
Blame it on the technological advancements or the
decreasing need to go out and play, today’s kids are facing a constant threat
from ailments like obesity resulting in heart problems. If you are a parent who
is worried about the deteriorating health of your kids, participating with them
in performing activities that can help provide them with their share of physical
exercises is a good solution.
Before we progress with this article it
should be noted that this article is in no way designed as a cure for kids who
are in need of a medical consultation or facing any heart related problems. If
you or any of your family member is facing any health related problems, it is
advisable that they get in touch with a physician at the earliest. Being active
or adopting an active lifestyle is a perfect goal for your kids if you want to
see them in good shape.
A great share of continuously deteriorating
health of our kids can be put on technology. When more than perfect
entertainment is provided right in your living room, why would you go out and
venture out to the playing field? Television, music players, video games,
Internet, computers, and a horde of board games make it more and more difficult
our kids to venture out in the sun for a game of basketball. We as parents
should encourage our kids to play games that being physical exercise. Roller
skating and cycling are some of the activities that are not only fun, they are
also taken very easily by kids.
One of the best ways to inculcate a
feeling of outdoor fun in your kids is to plan excursions, picnics and camping
trips with your family. Not only will it allow your kids to see how much fun it
is to go out and play, it will also be a wonderful way to share some
unforgettable moments with your family.
